Texas black buck/hogs
I am looking for some suggestions for a place to do a three day hunt black buck/hog hunt. I want to shoot Blackbuck and my dad is only interested in hogs. Timing would be end of February beginning of March.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had an enjoyable time down in TX last year, getting my two pigs. They also had Black Buck and several othe exotics at the Double C Ranch. I bought the hunt on ebay got a 2 man Aoudad and pig hunt for $550. I wasn't interested in the Aoudad which was a good thing because I didn't see any.

The accomadations were very good and the staff is top notch. This was the first hunt I ever purchased and it was a great vacation. I just whish I had brought a shotgun with me for the sporting clays.

This wasn't the type of hunt I was used to because it was pretty much all elevated stands or ground blinds at feeders. I did sit at a water hole the first day and got to see quite a few Axis and Black Buck come in to water. If you want to hunt hogs ask to stay out later at night as that is when the hogs are more active.

I would have liked to spot and stalk some pigs but this was oveall a very enjoyable trip. This was a high fenced ranch as well which when you get down in South TX most of them are. At least all of the pastures we were in were 500 acres or larger.

Hey SDHunter. I am originally from Mitchell, SD. Still have all my family in SD. Anyway, I have hunted with Jeff at Double C Ranch in Carizo Springs, TX twice in the last year. I also went on the Hog/Aoudad hunt and it is a top notch operation. You will not be dissapointed. He has alot of Gold Medal Blackbucks and I think they were going for around 1300-1500. I was fortunate in August and bagged a nice 23" Auodad. Check out his website as Taylorce1 mentioned. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the ranch.
