I have one of those Buck Shot cadillacs, one that faces the tree. It climbs slippery trees well and gives me a feeling of security in the tree. But it is noisy to set up, and a little aggravating in the dark.

I want to know who has tried the Summit climbers, and the Ol Man series. I especially like the newer styles of quiet cable attachment that go on the tree quietly and easily. Any thoughts?

I just got a summit viper XLS off of ebay for 180.00, which id 50$ less than cablea's sells them for. I think its great. easy to use and carry.

Before buying a new climber check in with-
DICKS Sporting Goods or Wally World or go to
Outdoor World for prices

their prices are not bad
be sure to test the cable ones out-
tend to slip with ease

Dicks runs sales all the time-
and at least you can look and compare them side by side

I bought an API grand slam mag. supreme about 4 years ago and so far i have no complaints. I havent compared it to other stands so i dont know if it is noisy, although i can get in and out of trees fine.Never had any problems other than i hate the backpack straps that accompany it.

My dad got a Summit bullet backpacker this year. He likes it but hasn't used it extensively. I have used a Lone Wolf Alpha climber for the last 4 years. Its a great stand tho a little expensive.

I have tried most climbers and own a Loggy and Summit viper XLS. The Summit is by far the best, lightest and most quiet climber around. It is VERY easy to put up in the dark and ther are no parts to loose. I have used this stand for 3 years now for both archery and rifle hunting here in PA. I highly recommend the Summit.
