I use to hunt antelope here in Idaho but after failing to draw a tag for the last 10 years a couple of buddies and I went next door to wyoming for a diy antelope hunt.

We all put in for doe tags and of course you know what you see when you have doe tags.

We all had a great time, saw lots of speed goats and all got a nice doe.

We've got a bunch of doe tags for the area around Farson. It'll be a few weeks before we get over there, but I'm confident we can fill them in short order. Pronghorn is probably my favorite game meat. Can't wait to put a couple on ice.

I hunted down in Oklahoma this weekend on some landowner permits. We ended up with all three tags filled, 14", 13 1/4" and 10 1/4".

Nice pics. It'll be almost a month before I make it out that way for my antelope hunt but I'm counting the days.

Nice pictures! My son and I leave a week from tomorrow for area 52. Three tags a piece (buck and two does.) It will be a family hunt, with 10 in our group and over 30 tags between us. We will make great war on the antelope people! My son is 14 and this is his first western hunting trip. He's pretty excited, as am I!

I did most of my "shooting" with a canon 40d 70-200 f4L
I enjoy the photography aspect of hunting as much as shooting part.
Live animals are much more photogenic then the "tail gate" shots.
We probably could have finished our hunt the first day but that would have cut into our time around the camp fire.
One of my buddies and I have a couple more tags and will head back in October.
The problem we had with our hunt was although there was frost in the morning, the temps got up to almost 80 in the pm.
We put the animals in large coolers and put dry ice on them. They held for 4 and 5 days till we got them back to Idaho.

Sidnye: Great equipment makes great images, congratulationson a fun trip and good photos. I am recovering from a stroke and have really leaned on my camera in my recovery. I have some antelope images in the ruger.com forum gallery also on ar in the north american forum(this thing really got out of hand- if you read it you'll see what I mean. I don't think that anyone in that thread has any idea what an 86" antelope looks like IMO. Dr.C

Good equiptment sure makes life easier but heh, it's not just the equiptment, it's the person behind the lens or in my case it's my very patient hunting buddies who let me have a go with the camera before they flip the safety off.
