N E 450 No2Blaser K 95 Single Shot second firing.
I shot my K 95 Blaser Stutzen at the range yesterday.
I continue to be impressed with this rifle. It is in 308.
I fired 5 different factory loads at 100 yards. So far this rifle places all the different loads fired into a small enough group that no sight adjustments are necessary for the typical shots I get on the deer/pig lease or for bear over bait. This is true for 150 to 180 grain bullets. I have tried the following loads:
Federal 150 Ballistic Tip
WW 150 Fail Safe
WW 168 Ballistic Silvertip
Federal 165 Trophy Bonded Bearclaw
Reload with 180 Hawk
Federal 180 Woodleigh Soft
WW 180 Fail Safe
All these loads would hit a 2"x2" square at 100 yards.
I Need to shoot this rifle at 200 and 300 yards.
So far I have only taken a turkey with this rifle.
I bought several boxes of the Federal 180 Woodleigh Softs, I think they have discontinued that load now. I thought it would be just the load for Black Bear over bait.
I have decided to use this single shot rifle for my Sept. John the Greek Black Bear hunt in Idaho.
Using a single shot should add a level of excitement to the Bear hunt.
I will be wearing my 44 Mag revolver however.
I will also use it for my deer and pig hunting this year.
I think the members of the Double Rifle Shooters Society will understand, after all the Blaser is Half of a double rifle.
Glad to hear of your success. My own is a 26" 6.5x57R that is wonderfuly accurate. It does require a little extra skill to shoot being so light but is very satisfying.
Being a rimmed round the extractor does not hold the spent case. I merely tip the rifle over somewhat with my left hand while my right fishes in my pocket for the new round. I suspect you will have to pull the empty case out with a finger? Speed reloading is not the spirit of the K95 but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
What scope did you put on it?

I assume you have seen my post in the Singls Shot forum.
My scope is the 1" American model Zeiss. I really like these light weight scopes. You are correct in that I have to Flick out the empty 308 case with my finger. I carry extra ammo in a very light weight buttstock shell carrier which makes the reload fairly fast. I have hunted with Ruger No1's quite a bit in the past, and I like them a lot, however this lightweight Blazer Stutzen is already becomming one of my favorite rifles. It is accurate, lightweight, and beautiful. The scopemounts are the best in the industry and I really like the safety aspects of the cocking feature.
It is a shame that ALL scopes do not use the European Rail system. I think it is far superior to "rings".
I would really like to have another bbl or a whole "nother" K-95 in 10,3x60R. If I understand the cartridge correctly I could make brass from 450/400 3 1/4" Nitro Express brass. The 10,3x60 would make a great wild pig/black bear over bait round.
