Posting again as it has been a couple of years since I last looked for Bear outfitting. The wife and I are looking for an outfitter for Black Bear where there are good numbers of color phase bear. I have been told the Selway Bitteroots is the area I should look at. Although I dont mind a tent camp, the wife wants more in the way of a cabin or lodge. We have been looking at Russell Pond Outfitters but have not found alot of reviews that are current. Most of the ones I found are from more than a few years ago. I would consider a DIY if I had more time, but this year would like an outfitter. So has anyone used Russell Pond?

Advice would be appreciated on other outfitters.

As a side, I dont mind hunting baits but dont have a desire to hunt with hounds.

Check out www.bouldercreekoutfitters.com I have bear hunted with them twice, lots of color phase nice camps and good food. They have a couple of different areas, one offers two bears but is a bit tougher hunt than the one bear ranch hunt.
