It might help to know what type of hunting you prefer. There are a lot of options from flying in to remote areas by Helicopter and backpacking in tent camps all the way to 5 acre pen shoots.

I hunted w/ John Berry a 3-4 of years ago for Tahr. Like Fjold said, there are many ways to hunt NZ & he can pretty much handle what ever you need.

Look into Leithen Valley Trophy hunts. Great outfit and on top of that, just all round great people. I guided for them back in '01 for 5 months. Great stags...
they are out of the Queenstown and Gore region on the South Island..

I hunted with Jim Hunter of Glenroy Lodge last year. He was SCI outfitter of the year a couple of years ago.

Great food and accomdations, very suitable for a spouse or a family.

He had several stags over 350 last year.

A very experienced hunter, a great hunt.

Just a thought, when I went over, the wife had a girlfriend tag along. I hunted 4 days & they went on a Glacier/train tour. We met back in Christchurch after. Evryone got what they wanted, great trip.

No, hadn't tried in that forum yet. I'll give it a try.

Duffy, That'd sure be nice, but I don't think it would go over too well w/ the wife Eeker
