Montana apprentice hunter program

Looks like I will be taking my 10 year old daughter this year deer hunting. Then next year will add one more.

Just from what I read it will allow hunting of anything with unlimited tags. Which to me is deer, mountain lion, wolf, black bear and elk (if they are over age 15). No archery without an archery safety course. Must buy the licenses of course.

They can be an apprentice for 2 years before needing to pass hunter safety.

My daughter will not be eligible to take hunters education until 2017 so this will be nice to be able to take her deer hunting until then.

Sounds like a good program.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

The state finally got something right
It's to introduce the youth to hunting with the parents ,while hunting deer, bear or turkey only.

You are lucky, hunting with your kids is great for you both.
I know I have 2 boys, great times ahead of you.
It's about time spent making an impression on your kids that will help shape who they are and memories for you both that will last beyond your lifetime.
Have fun with her.

New Mexico has a similar program that I've used to advantage with my son. Go get 'em!
