SidnyeWy lope hunt report
As luck would have it my buddies and I drew only doe tags this year.
Our goal was to get my good friend of 30 years a shot. He's in his mid 70's has a bum foot and ankle and cant get around very well.
I have a place on the Idaho side over by Alpine Wyoming, so we made a couple trips and saw a good number of goats.
Lots of area to hunt.
This guy was right along side the road. They really are beautiful animals.
We shooed him away
another curious buck probably 12 inches about average for the area
Nice family portrait
Sipping some water.
my buddy connected
nice 125 yd shot.
I went along for the booze and cigars and to snap a few photos.
I will head back towards the end of October.

georgeldGreat pics, goats are colorful animals.
Whyhoming has some mighty big country for the most part and lots of goats in most of it.
I used to truck around the state a lot back in the mid 70's. So I got to see a lot of it.
Damn the wind and cold temps in winter though.
I sure don't understand folks that would live up there that time of year. I spent a weekend at Little America one winter. Something like 55mph and 40 below. They claimed it figured around 110 below windchill. I spent hours under the rig laying in it thawing the brakes loose from the drums and tires out of the mudhole. Seems warm brakes and tires attract blowing snow, then it melts and freezes in place. What a miserable day that was. Diesel #2 jelled in just a few minutes.
On the rare COLD calm days, smoke from the trucks on I-80 made big white rolls that just stacked against each other against the fences. Much like miles long haystacks 10' dia. Big rows of them for miles. I don't miss it a bit. Though in summer when it's nice, it's very nice.
