Topgun 30-06It really depends on whether you're talking a useable firearm or an antique that may be worth some money as to who you want to get in touch with.

StonecreekYep, depends on what kind of firearm it is. "Modern" firearms can be appraised with simply a good set of photos.
But since the market for antiques/collectibles is so relatively thin, the best any appraiser can do is tell you what something similar sold for within the recent past then bracket your item within those parameters.
