EXPRESSBarnes 168gnTSX?
( Sorry guys, it seems I was thinking one thing and writing another...I meant to ask about the TSX's)
has anyone had any experiences with the 168gn TSX in .30cal?
I just ordered a box and am curious as I've heard good things about them, but nothing specific.

easyupAfter two hits, one at 100 yrs and another at 424 yds with 130 grain triple shocks I'm sold on the performance. The 100 yr was end to end, found in rear roast after it was cooked with absolutly picture perfect mushroom with almost no weight loss, and 424 left a 2 1/2 inch exit hole. Getting good accuracy, easier to clean than X and a surprise 3200 fps! Working on loads for 168 in my '06, nothing special as of yet, 300 WM is next.

DeltaHunterI've used the 168 gr. TSX in my .300 Weatherby on whitetail deer. After being disappointed with the performance of other bullets at these velocities, I wanted to try something stouter. I was optimistic to begin with because I got very good accuracy at the range with this bullet. In the field the results were just as good. In short, I love this bullet. I'm not sure how it will perform on game at lower speeds, but in the .300 Wby it works great.

rukidnmeVery accurate, 168gr Barnes Triple shock match bullet.
Last weekend tried them out.
With IMR 4831 I shot groups of:
.70 .40 .34 with velocity of 3390 in my .26" barrel .300 win mag.
Also shot 1" groups with H4831 powder.
Barnes say the bullet performance is the same as with their plain x bullets, and from experience I know that is hard to beat.

Jeff AlexanderI shot 2 Alabama whitetail bucks and 1 whitetail doe with them this past November. The largest was prob 100lbs. Not much of a test for this bullet, I suppose, but all three of them dropped in their tracks. Haven't tried them on any larger game, but hope to remedy that in Namibia.
The 168XXX are the most accurate "X" bullet I've tried so far out of my Ultra Light Arms 300WSM. I've tried 180XXX, 165XLC, 168XLC, and all of them shoot a little less than 1". The 168XXX shoots a little over 1/2" groups @100. My most accurate load has been with RL19. Jeff

BigBrassI have loaded the 168 grain and 180 grain Triple Shocks for my .300 Win Mag. 84 grains of H1000 for the 168 grain bullets and 81 grains of H1000 for the 180 grain bullets. (These are max loads; work up carefully from 10% below, watching for signs of pressure.) They both routinely make five-shot groups a little less than 1" at 100 yards. This is the best accuracy I have gotten from that rifle. I have not hunted with them yet; but I expect that terminal performance will be excellent.
