Any Luck in Nevada?

Jack D BoldAny Luck in Nevada?
I was fortunate enough to draw a unit 201, 204-206 early archery tag. Anyone else get lucky in Nevada?
And any tips on this area would be appreciated.
Thanks

JBrownI was under the impression that entering the big game drawing in Nevada required purchase of a non-refundable hunting license(and application fee).
I just went back an looked at the NDW and could not find anything about this requirement.
Do you have to buy a Nevada hunting license to enter the drawing? If any of you could clue me in I would really appreciate it.

CHWineYou only have to buy the license if you want to get a preference point.

Twelve years and no tag. If I ever draw I'll quit applying. It's kinda like a poker game. I'm in too deep to quit now.
Muzzleloader deer in 031. My kids also got that area for junior deer. I did luck out and get one of the bear tags. We'll see if the courts shut it down before I get to go.

Palladin8I drew the big middle finger yet again. I was really hoping I would get something this year especially a bear tag but nope NV continues to take my money with nothing but a preference point in return. Points that likely will amount to nothing.
Well, with 13 antelope points, 12 for elk, 11 for desert and california bighorns, 6 for deer and 8 for mtn. goat, I drew nothing again! I've gone on some really nice hunts in Nevada over the last 5 or 6 years, unfortunately, they were all with friends who drew tags.

NavalukAfter the draw I have a maximum of 8 points except as to deer (drawn 2) and Mountain Goat (drew last year). I can't complain. Much fairer system then MT, WY, Colo, Utah, AZ, etc.

How is the system in NV better than the other states?
I'm not up on the draw system, but I am trying to learn.
Thanks,
Jason

swamp critterthe system is not rigged to limit premium tags to max point holders....no point creep.... its a random drawing... higher preference points give better odds but do not guarantee a tag....was explained to me last year this way by my guide... say a unit has 4 tags to give out.... the computer assigns these tags number 1-4...the guy with no points get one random number assigned to him... the guy with 10 PP ( 10+1 number of points +1 squared) gets 121 numbers assigned to him.... whoever gets numbers 1-4 assigned to him gets the tag....they reward those who apply with better odds but do not leave those with low numbers in the cold waiting for 15-20 yrs to draw a tag... they are not stellar odds but at least you have a chance....drew a premium bull elk tag last year with one point
