Big Game HunterJust Got Back
I just got back from my lease in Nebraska. I had 10 hunters including myself and we took 14 deer in 5 days. Seven of those deer were whitetail bucks and they all but one scored around 130. We had one guy shoot a smaller goofy antlered buck because he liked it and I wanted the deer gone. We also took 5 mule deer bucks. Four of them score in the 140's and the fifth deer was an accident but was still a good deer. I had two guys that wanted to shoot a doe so they took a whitetail each.
Other animals taken were 3 porcupines, 1 coyote, and 1 sandhills sharp tailed grouse.
I don't have all of the pictures yet but here is what I have. I will update with pics when I get them.
I saw lots of 130" whitetail and multiple shooter mulies the size of what we killed. I also saw a 160 +/- whitetail and another buck that would be in the 150's. We saw two big mulies that would be in the 160-170 range but we couldn't close the deal.
Everyone on the hunt saw lots of deer and some that were really big but couldn't get a shot. We found two sheds from last year that if they match would have scored in the 160 range.
My taxidermist with his first mulie.
I have hunted with and helped lots and lots of people get their animal so I have seen some folks get excited over a kill but this guys wins hands down. He basically threw his gun to the ground, punched another guy in the shoulder and nearly body slammed me.
I had seen this buck 2 days prior to this guy getting a shot. He is 22" inside and has 13" back tines.
I shot this deer the last morning. I had seen him earlier in the hunt but passed him because I had just seen a 145" deer that I couldn't get a clean shot at. He was with a doe and a steep canyon out of the wind and it cost him his life. This buck had the biggest body of any deer that I have ever killed. I would have loved to had his live body weight. We all agreed that he was 280+ and some thought he was over 300 pounds.
This is one of my hunters that took both species on this trip.
This buck was at the check in station. I didn't get a great look at him because he was stuffed inside a camper with 3 other deer but he appeared to be very close to 170.
This is a 45+ pound coyote that another one of my hunters spooked and I shot him running at 140 yards.
Sandhills Sharp Tailed Grouse for the collection.
Here is a set of sheds that we found that were last years drops. They will score close to 170.

perry170" on those sheds??? Those are awesome sheds, we need a better picture. Were you able to keep the sheds or does the land owner/finder get to keep them?
Great hunt.

Big Game HunterI scored the shed in the left in the picture and I got 74" +/- and the other shed looks very close to the same.
We estimated a 18-19" inside spread. That gives a total of 165-170" so that I why I said "close" to 170.
The landowner's 17 years old nephew found the shed on the left and he wanted to keep it. Otherwise I would have it. The shed on the right was found after I left by another nephew of the landowner.
