mine would have to be sittin in stand glsasing a huge whitetali coming into you. Hair bristled up fromt he rut. That gets my adrenaline flowing! However i bet shooting Elk would be great too especially with a bow.

antelope hunting in september out in the high & dry great american desert. Shooting a 96 swede mauser in 6.5x55. Glassing the herds, knowing you are the only human for 30 miles or more. doesn't get any better than that.

Yeah Wyoming Swede, i'd second that. I've taken kids up there close to Rock River, and i love to see one crawl some, and make a good shot. i get a big reward from their reward.

My all time favorite Hunt is for high plains Mule Deer (in Montana, Wyoming or Idaho)! And since I retired my Winchester Model 70 in caliber 270 Winchester several years ago, I have been using a custom pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in caliber 280 Remington. 25 1/2" Douglas barrel on this rig in a Browns Precision stock. This Rifle is very accurate and uses a Leupold 4X12 scope with Du-Plex. I use the wonderful Nosler 140 gr. Partition in it. Ahhh!!! Yes!!!
I know only one favorite Hunt and Rifle was requested but my next favorite Hunt and Rifle would be on the plains of Montana or Wyoming for Antelope! I prefer to use my custom pre-64 Model 70 in caliber 240 Weatherby for Antelope. 27" Hart barrel with a custom English Walnut stock. This Rifle is equipped with a Leupold 6.5X20 scope and shoots the Sierra 85 gr. HP/BT bullet 3" high at 100 yards. Antelope within 400 yards are virtually in the bag! Ahhh!!! Yes!!!
Dreaming of next season already!

I love to hunt Cape Buffalo every year in Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe or where ever...but one of my favorite hunts is to shoot Bison in Nebraska, which is the only actual fair chase Bison hunt that I know of in the USA..I like to use a sharpes rifle or perhaps my double rifle...All hunting is on foot in rough country and the Bison are sho nuff wild and smart.

But I supose my favorite hunts is to slip out behind my house with my grandson and my 25-35, him with his 30-30, and shoot a couple of mule deer. This is what it is all about when it comes down to the nut cutt'en.
