McSternOutfitter for Canadian black bear - but not at bait?
Dear friends,
a friend and I would like to go black bear hunting in 2016 in (western) Canada. I have done some research and discovered that almost all outfitters offer hunting bear at baits.
Is that the only way to do it? What about "spot and stalk"?
We'd be very grateful, if you could point us in the right direction.
thank you!

TommyIICheck into outfitters in British Columbia. Bait hunting isn't allowed there for bear. I've hunted with Bear Paw Outfitters a couple of times and have been very happy with them. It used to be owned by a guy named Dennis Smith but he was in the process of selling the business and retiring so he may not be the owner now.
Do a google search and you'll find a lot of outfitters in BC for bear and like I said, no baiting allowed.

M16I did a spot and stalk with this outfitter. Killed two bears and saw a bunch. Beautiful country.
