I disagree.
If hunting is shown to the public as hunters connecting with their roots and utilizing a natural resource, our position is strengthened(think about the effect The Hunger Games has had.)
If hunting is shown as egomaniacs killing animals for their headgear, our position is weakened.
Shows like Meat-Eater and the one about subsistence hunting in Alaska strengthen our position in the public eye. The shows that don't mention utilizing the meat and only talk about antler size really hurt the image of hunting in the public's eye.

JpatThey claim the gentleman that started the petition was a conservationist, but within a few line mentions he Wanted to preserve. Does that not make him a preservationist, the type of person that wants no animal hunted???

Oday450Maybe it's time for petitions and protests from the pro hunting community.

ShackThis is all somewhat a commentary on Nat'l Geo too. It's a surprise to me they would even go this route with adventure reality shows at all, let alone one whose only reason for existing is just sex. I mean, what other earthly reason could there be for watching?
They must have considered presenting it without the "hardcore" bit. So why would they do it?
Is their magazine hurting? We in fact did drop it several years ago. And I say that being in a family that subscribed to it since the 1930s. It has been that long our family supported them.
So why did it get dropped?
Several reasons. But, I was the last family member still looking at it and I finally got tired of its shift in focus to what I regard as a clear Left Wing slant.
The environmental preaching and fascination with global warming along with liberal letters to the editors printed in it just did their damage over time. But I guess they think that's the future, and chose to go with it...and for every action there're consequences.
