White Trash's Muley Hunters 2013
With deer hunting season over, I thought I'd show you guys some pics of the 3 bucks killed by our hunters in West Texas this year. Before CHC shows up in his drunken stupor mouthing off, your's truly, White Trash, did not fire a shot at a buck this year.

One of our favorite PA hunters killed this nice cull buck bumping 180", including 50" of mass. An ancient buck.....

[IMG:left] [/IMG]

Next my buddies 15 yr old son killed his first mule deer buck, a fine 180" 5 yr old.......

[IMG:left] [/IMG]

Finally, my friend from Louisiana finally got a chance to hunt this ranch with me. 5 full, hard days of hunting turned up this massive 7 byr old going 197 5/8 gross. 40" of mass on this buck.

They're not in Drum's league, but they're good Texas bucks anyway.

Don't feel like the lonesome stranger. First time in 14 years I did not shoot one deer during season.

Not to worry. My oldest took a nice cow elk and a black bear back in September. I had two freezers so full that until late December I would have had to go buy a third to put any meat in.

Best,

GWB

PS: fine looking critters. Bet the hunters that took them were jazzed.

Really great bucks. I have never had the chance to kill a muley here in Texas. Killed them in Colorado and Nebraska, maybe some day before I die I can shoot one here.

It would not have to be anything of that quality, just a muley. They impress me more than any white tail ever will.

Very nice bucks!

Those are nice bucks. Most of the pictures I have seen of Texas mulie bucks were of deer that were rather spindly……… these would be considered good deer anywhere.

Maybe I don't have to get a second mortgage to go to Mexico for one? Wink

All really great deer! I, too, like that palmated one in particular. I agree w/ CHC, mule deer have a "special something" over whitetails, IMO.

Do you guys have a website re: hunting opportunities?

The tags are taken for the next 3 years. I'll keep you posted if something changes though. This is a great ranch, except for the exceptionally dry drought years. Since 2008 we have taken 6 bucks over 190". Only 4 tags per year max on 65,000 acres.

Thanks for the kind words.

Fantastic deer from anywhere, much less Texas. Are these Panhandle muleys because the terrain doesn't resemble the Trans-Pecos area?

I am guessing somewhere in between Lubbock - Midland/Odessa and the state line.

I was wondering about "that area" a few weeks ago. Had not seen any deer pics from that area in a while. Good to see it is still producing some solid deer.
