Freshly picked berries are delicious, but my favorite fruit off the vine has to be a nice ripe red baby tomato still warm from the sun. Tastes totally different than any tomato you'll get at the grocery store.

I'd say the local black bears agree with you on that, but they aren't particular about them being warmed by the sun.

At least the coons are polite enough to just pick them through the clear plastic sheeting covering the tomato cages. The bears just take the whole cage.
