I am looking into booking an archery hunt for two people for sika deer in MD. Has anyone done this, and do you recommend an outfit for this?

I have found these two places online that seem to have good reviews does anyone have an experience with them. Black Duck Outfitters, Winters Farm Hunting.

I hunted Sika deer (they only on the eastern shore),and a swamp, mostly, animal. I got a BIG one for Md, a doe about 70 maybe more lbs. send me an e-mail address and I'll send you a picture. Hunted them again about 10 years ago now, and MLer hangfired, and missed it. I understand you CAN get some long shots, but both of mine were under 50 yards and so much brush and such, a lot could be that distance. Florida has them too, but theirs up to 300 lbs.

My reply should have said, a lot could be 10% of that distance. Not familiar with the "outfitters" you mentioned.

Watch the meat eater has a good two episode hunt in Maryland for these deer. I would check with Fish and Game for starters. they should be able to steer you to some outfitters.

TJ leases a large amount of land around our private club. He is an honest man. The area he leases has the highest density of sika deer in Maryland. Jim Shockey and Craig Boddington have hunted with him. South Dorchester County, MD is, I believe, the only place you can hunt free range sika deer in the US. PM me if you would like more info.
