I'm not far from where this thing was caught in AL. They had a news story last week that the animal had been donated to the State of AL and was being mounted for public display. One of the universities got ahold of the taxidermist doing the work and asked him to open the stomach to see what it had been feeding on. He found a whole deer carcass (note that it was swallowed whole) in the stomach. They pulled the jaw from the deer and said it was a 3 year old doe.

An alligator that was capable of swallowing a whole deer is simply amazing. I've caught gators up to 9 ft long and I can't even imagine tangling with one like this!
