best time for meat hunt
I will probably be in south Texas for a few days in September. Is this a good time for an exotic meat hunt? If not, what is the best time of year? Does the species matter? Axis, Nilgi, or Fallow are on my mind. Thanks.

CrazyhorseconsultingAny time is a good time, the only thing you shpould worry about is getting the meat to a proccessor/cold storage facility or iced down A.S.A.P due to the heat at that time of year, especially in South texas.
The heat is the key thing. You will want to get the meat handled and processed on ice quickly. Temperatures in the 90s in Texas in September are common.

OkieNewtonA lot of the ranches offering a hunt like this will most likeley have cold storage right on the ranch. Some will field dress the animal on the spot while others may not want to mess up a a special place and just take the critter back to camp for gutting and then just hang it in the cooler.
