Besides some abnormally cool whether this weekend, my daughter Ella and friend Darryl managed to take a hog and Dybowski Sika respectively.
Ella took her hog Friday night. Although it wasn't as large as her first hog, the shot was further, at a smaller target that refused to stay still, and with a 243 win this time vs a 223 rem.
Darryl's Sika is excellent for a free range specimen. It was just starting to come out of velvet - the hardened ends were poking through!!!

KarooThanks for sharing, but for those of us out of town, what is a "Dybowski Sika" compared to the normal ones?
Are they free-ranging?

They are spotted versus the typical solid black/dark brown sikas. They are also a bit bigger.

graybirdCongrats to all involved!!! I'm looking foward to this fall. I'm going to take a few buddies back home to Oklahoma and we're gonna try to get their young ones on deer. Hopefully, they'll be smiling from ear to ear just like Ella!!!!
