Florida gator infos?
Im planning a gator hunt in Florida the first week of January. Looking for a serious outfitter with a confortable accomodation for my wife. Better not far from Miami beach where I want go at the end of the hunt. Advises?

Do a simple google search. There are a lot of people doing guided gator hunts these days. Ask for references and check them out.

For what it is worth, I went with a guy named John French out of Naples a few years ago. Had a great time and we took 3 gators that day. But, John French died from a heart attack 2 years ago so I can't actually suggest you contact him.

I am Trophy Gator hunting with H and H Gator hunts in March. Jim SHockey hunting with him a couple of years ago and wrote a great article on it. Do a search.
Good Luck,
W.

January maybe a bit iffy on gators due to colder
weather that time of year.
Good luck anyway.

A friend killed a 13 footer with them not sure on acomadations. Jan can get into the 30's at night when a cold front comes through some times but warms up during the day. http://www.floridahuntingoutfitter.com/

January can be cold. It all depends on what front is coming through. A couple of years back, my fountain in front of my house was frozen solid for 11 days. Other than that year, it rarely has ice. iI does happen from time to time.

Gators are cold blooded. They won't move as much if it is cold.

Osceola Outfitters referred to above has a quality hunt. However, they are much further north than Miami.

Thanks Guys.
I'm surprised. I was thinking in Florida in winter the temperatures were higher. However the outfitters I have contacted they told me the hunt can be done in January. Not with air boat but spot and stalk.
