Wolf attacks woman...didn't work out so well for the Wolf
People we have been preaching for years now that wolves will start attacking people when their prey base runs out. Read this and tell me if it isn't a sign that things are under way

This email should be read by anyone who hunts, camps, or spends any amount of time in the woods in northern Idaho. Last night I received a phone call from my mother who lives in Headquarters. She informed me that on Sunday while bow hunting she was attacked by a wolf. A few of you know that she is not your typical mother or grandmother. She has worked as a professional hunting guide for many years, so she has spent many hours in the woods. She has seen wolfs on many occasions and this is the first time one came at her.
She said as soon as the wolf saw her it charged. She was able to drop her bow, draw her 44 mag out of its holster, and put 1 round in the wolfs head at a range of a few feet. Please let any of your family and friends know of this so they can take whatever precautions needed while out in the woods. If any of you have any questions please feel free to call me. Thank's

One cool woman. Well done.

Wait till one charges a kid on the edge of town, then the outcome might be a bit different (sadly) but the Greenie do gooders won't change their minds.

These are the imported Yukon wolves that were dumped into Yellowstone, and now they've spread to WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, CO and sighting in other States are being denied by the Fed's. I have been told of wolves being killed that went from 200-250 lbs. I had a hard time believing any of them went over 150, but some of the photo's I'm now seeing has me wondering. These things are huge. I have a Yukon wolf pelt and folks have no idea. LDK

Yes, but the 44 magnum still looks tiny next to it.

Regardless of the photo quality it isn't hard to see it's at least as big as she is first off, and the most important part of this is that when it saw her it charged. It isn't a story of mistaken identity, or callin one in, or anything but the fact it saw her as a meal.

One of the guys at work was hunting fairly close to home last week and was finding wolf tracks in his tracks that he'd made earlier that same day. Once again man has proven his ignorance. Nate

I don't think so, that Wolf has a huge head and jaw.

If she'd wanted to make it look big, why not sit it on
it's haunches ?

the fact that she carries a 44mag tells you most of what you need to know about Grandma!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Now, that's exactly how I'd like to see all of the wolves in the lower 48 states: DOA.

Nice shooting, and thank you for removing one more of this abominable transplant idea's vermin.

Sincerely,

She did excellent.

Bear Cat

Better make it the 44 Mag.
I have seen several wolf in Idaho, and I can say they are very big.

I have encountered them several times when hunting black bear.

Here in NY that wouldn't be possible as bow hunters aren't permitted to carry firearms !
Granny did well ! Now I know my 44 mag can be used for DG ! tu2

It's somewhat surprising that this incident has remained somewhat of a secret. A google search turns up absolutely nothing about it.

Since the kill must be reported, I sent an email to one of my contacts at the ID G&F. And...absent the email address or phone number in the posted "email", I also sent one to the North Idaho Correctional Institution to verify the existence of one, William "Jeff" Anderson.

Game and Fish has built "chicken coops" for children to wait for their school bus in the Gila here in NM for protection from wolves.
And some think there is no problem

No news in Idaho about this one either. My bud up at Orofino hadn't heard about this one either.
On a related note, did anyone book one of the OP's wolf hunts and were they successful???

We've had crazy warm weather the last few weeks--not great news for hunters.

Shooting a wolf in Idaho is no easy task--in 09 99% of tags sold went unfilled.

Heading up to McCall area tonight---of course weather is looking to be in the 80s, probably take the fishing pole just in case.

All you elk hunters coming out to my great state, be sure to bring some snow---its what we need.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.
