Getting a Head in life
I recently went on an exotics hunt and was fortunate to take a nice Hawaiian black sheep. Now that the hunt is over, meat's in the freezer, and the head's at the taxidermist, I need some ideas on what pose to have him mounted in. Do any of you exotics hunters out there have some pictures of your trophies. I need ideas for a shoulder mount. Thanks for your input.

Sevens,

Jerry Huffaker who is an AR member and a Abilene taxidermist probably has some very distinct ideas about what to do with your sheep. Why don't you contact him?

Regards,

Mark

Mark,

Do you have Jerry's email. I've been in Texas the past few days and visited bass pro shops. They did have one very interesting corsican mount. Thanks.

consider where he will be going....

Mounted heads in company often look best straight or perhaps slight turn whereas trophys displayed alone often make big impressions in sneak or full turn sneak positions.

I'm not up on sheep so much but big whitetail antlers are much enhanced with sneak mounts, me thinks. Also I much prefer ears alert than droopy. I want new visitors to be taken aback when the encounter happens and the alert animal eye to eye seems to be most effective.

I haven't hunted with them, but http://mauihunting.com/ looks like a sharp-enough outfit to have some good ideas. Or call Kona Reloads on the Big Island at 808-323-3314. Hope this helps, Okie John.
