MGCCost of Dahl Sheep Hunt
OK Boys, Give it to me straight. How much does a decent Dahl sheep hunt run?? What are the success rates?? I am in Utah so I believe I'd be required to have a guide.
I just had back surgery at the ripe old age of 28 and I think by next year I'll be able to do it. Got to get my dream before I can't.
Thanks,
Mike

DB BillHello!!!! There ain't no Dall Sheep in the Lower 48 no matter how many preference points you have.....Canada or Alaska. Expect to pay, in Alaska where you are required to have a guide, a minimum of $7500 up to $10,000 depending on how tough you are...pack-back hunts being the cheapest and on up. Sucess depends on how picky you are over the legal size but I would expect 80%+.

TTSAlaska is usually the least expensive, $7K-$9K. Yukon and NWT, $9K-$12K. From my own research, NWT outfitters seems to be consistantly putting out the biggest sheep on average (38-40). Their prices also tend to be the highest. Usually starting at about $10K. You also have to decide if you want a backpack hunt or horseback hunt. Most of Alaska is BP only. Yukon hunts are almost all HB. NWT hunts are about half and half. TTS
