AtkinsonWhitetail Deer for my African hunter friends
I just negociated for a Whitetail ranch near Throckmorton Texas that has some very, very, big Whitetail deer...Nice place and run by nice folks, not a super fancy place but comfortable.
The best news is that the hunts run $2500. thats just a real good deal so I thought I would get the word out to ya'll...If interrested then give me a call or email...

AtkinsonAnybody interrested in this deal...
For this year only as an introductory offer on this ranch I am attempting to negociate the following deal...
I will meet 5 or 6 AR members at the ranch and hunt with you...You will be allowed to shoot a Trophy buck, one doe and two hogs for $2500. 4 days and 3 nights, everything furnished except your license...
Trophy quality and success rates are very high, The owner told me that last year they shot a 186 B%C buck for what its worth..
Hunts like this in Texas run from $5500 to $10,000...

LightningRay,
What are you saying that the average trophy buck might score B&C on this ranch?
21 October 2005, 07:45
JBoutfishnWhat are the dates for the hunt?

I'm not trying to be rude but what does this topic have to do with hunting in Africa?

Jason,
I disagree with you. This is the African
Big Game Hunting forum, and this thread has nothing to do with African big game hunting.

Not trying to be dissrespectful to Ray, but why does a post regarding african politics as seen recently here on AR (which at least has something to do with Africa) get "jumped on", while a post regarding hunting in the US, and has nothing at all to do with Africa, slips by the moderators without a comment?

Concur......this thread needs to be moved

JohnTheGreekPeople post these opportunities here for the same reason Willie Sutton robbed banks...."because that's where the money is". I can't fault anyone too much for it as I am probably guilty myself. That said, my suspicion is that certain people are likely to catch hell for it while others aren't.

Bingo.
The "in" crowd always gets more leeway.
And, they'll be the same ones who get defensive when called on it. (Or they'll have their lackies jump in to rescue them...)

AtkinsonI posted it here because of the many folks on this thread that I have sent to Africa, and this is where I post year around..I felt you should get first shot at a really good deal...
If you have a problem with the post, simply don't read it,..why be petty when I am only trying to do some here a favor...
I don't have to sell these six hunts on the internet, I can simply pick up the phone and make several phone calls and sell them...
Why is it that everytime someone tries to do something nice someone has to whine?

AtkinsonAs to the questions:
Average bucks probably run 135 to 150 with some in the 180 plus catagory..
Season is from Nov. 16 to Jan1, 2005...
I have a couple of commetments and have not set a date for a group hunt...
Due to the whineing, pissing and moaning going on, the moderator can delete this offer anytime he wants to..makes no difference to me, it wasn't about money, it was about doing nice things for nice people..

BradHow high is the fence

and how big is the ranch?
21 October 2005, 21:51
JohnTheGreekTo be totally frank, I don't think anybody on this thread started being "petty" or "whining" or "pissing" or "moaning" until they felt like their ego had been bruised. Nobody was taking a personal shot at you Ray and nobody was looking a gift horse in the mouth. As much as you think it may, I doubt reacting the way you did above really sells hunts.

Widowmaker416Hey Ray,
First of all I'm not "Whining!"
It's a case of respecting the wish's of Saeed, he asked that the Africa Hunting forum be for Africa Hunting, is there something wrong with that.

Very true, there are quite a few of them too. The moderators should correct this. Like dealers posting questions about the brand they represent etc.

Time for Bazaar forum?

kudu56What a bunch of petty B.S.!!!
It is a whitetail hunt in Texas, and at a very good price. No, at an excellent price.
Thank you Ray for offering and posting it here!
I occasionally look for bargain hunts and this is deffinately one. With good potential, a nice buck, a doe, and two hogs.

patrkyhntrRay, you have an email.
Gentlemen, this message was not posted on the African Hunting thread. This is the Big Game thread. What is your problem? If Saeed objects to it, he will say so.

Actually, it was moved from the African board - not that I had a problem with its placement, but that explains some of the comments in the thread.

patrkyhntrThank you for correcting that, Charles.

Well most Texans don't hunt high fences, yes some do, but it is still a small percentage of the people.
180" deer in Throckmorton. What are the odds of that you think? You think that might be overstating things a little.

FjoldThis looks like a good deal. I was at a game ranch south of Carrizo Springs last weekend and their price for Bronze level bucks was about twice that. A 200+ buck went for $30,000

AtkinsonLightening,
There are quite a few 180 class bucks shot in Texas... Thats not 186" its 186 B&C scoring system and thats a great buck for a low fenced ranch and it shows the gene pool is there, the chances of killing one are always slim....
Under high fence 200 plus bucks are shot each year in Texas, Canada, and Kansas mostly, but they cannot be entered in B&C....
And no I wasn't stretching things at all, you need to buy a subscription to Texas Whitetail Journal and quit shooting those does.
