Winchester Model 70 Owners in AR Forum?
Just thought I would throw this one out there......Nothing more.............Don't need to how many Model 70's you own (I own two), but rather a simple reply, to how many of us AR members own Model 70 Winchester's. I'll start: Count me in for 2! Let's see how big the list gets.

ShumbaIt is not polite to ask a woman her age or her weight. Therefore, I would also say that it is not polite to ask a man how many guns he owns.
Actually, I own 2 modern M70's but my preference is for the Pre-64 M70 of which I own a few.

Note, I'm not ask how many rifles, just a little curious on how many AR members are CFR & PF MOD.70's owners. I know the few I own are my prized rifles. ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif)

Andre MertensI'm not sure I dare say "one Win 70 rifle", as it's been rebarrelled and waiting for a new stock. Anyway, the receiver still reads "Winchester"

<phurley>I shoot four Model 70 Winchesters. All are capable of pin point accuracy, when I am. All are post 64 rifles, although two are the CRF Classics produced in the last few years. A .300 Win, two .358 STA's, and a .416 Rem.

Good shooting.

VarmintGuyCK: I Hunt a lot of my Big Game with a customized pre-64 Model 70 in caliber 280 Remington. In fact I chose this Rifle for my custom because it was made the same month that I was born - July 1947! Its a great Rifle, accurate, dependable and very safe!
I Hunt Varmints with several other pre-64 Model 70's again accurate, dependable and safe.
I also collect the Winchester pre-64 Model 70's and have a bunch of them including Target Rifles, Bull Guns, Varminters, Gopher Specials, Super Grades, Featherweights, National Match's, and all the various models of the standard Rifle. Great hobby this and rewarding.
Speaking of reliable I have made it a habit when I travel the country to stop in all the gun shops and gun smithing shops I come across. I always get around to asking the smiths - "have you ever seen a broken firing pin on a pre-64 Model 70?" I have yet to find one that has had to replace a firing pin on one! I am not saying there has never been a broken firing pin on a Model 70 I just have not seen one! They were well made Rifles!
Long live the Riflemans Rifle!
Hold into the wind
