Brian MNew Nosler bullet to be introduced
Straight from John Barness-
"Just got Nosler's 2003 press release and they are introducing a new line, called AccuBond, which appear to be bonded-core Ballistic Tips. The first ones will be 140 .270, 160 7mm, 200 .30, 225 .338 and 260 .375. It also appears that the 260 .375 Ballistic Tip has been dropped in favor of the new bullet, as it doesn't appear in their latest catalog/poster.
The new bullet features the same gilding metal jacket Nosler uses on all BT's and Partitions. Most bonded-core bullets (Swift,Trophy Bonded, Kodiak, Norma Oryx, Bitterroot, etc.) use copper jackets which, as we all know, can really foul some bores. "

Jon AThis is awesome news!
I like the Scirroco, the only problem with them and the "LoudenBoomers" is they aren't heavy enough (pure copper jacket is soft and needs to be really thick so a heavier bullet would be extremely long).
A 200 30 cal bullet with a BC in the .560-.570 range with a bonded core would be awesome! I might even stop using MatchKings!

stubblejumperIf they begin producing a 140gr in 7mm and a 180gr in .308" I will be testing them.I hope that they maintain the accuracy of the current ballistic tips.

arkypeteDidn't Norma make a triple layer jacket material years ago? It had the cupronickle/gilding metal on both sides with a mild steel in the center to form the jacket and the usual lead core.
Would this not be just about idea for hard hitting deep penetraition?

Kentucky NimrodIs it just me or does anyone else wish they still made the old SB line? I really liked those bullets and have never found anything that shot better in my .270 than the old 130 grain solid base bullets.

I would like to see a 180 grainer in 308. I hope the price is not too high compared to the good old ballistic tip. I hope they don't drop the old lines.
Nowerdays it's getting hard to find a bullets which is soft and expands easy in lower velocity.

Same for me, on the 7mm. I shoot 139-grain SSTs out of my .280 AI and I'd love to try some of these new bullets if they came out with a 140-grainer 7mm.

No, Kaintuck, it's not just you. The original solid base was the very best performer in several of my guns. I happen to have scrounged together a supply for my .270 and .243 to last a couple of decades on whitetails. I watch the various on-line auctions for the old Nosler Solid Base bullets, and when they do come up, there's always a spirited bidding competition for them. Looks like you an' me ain't the only ones.
By the way, those original Zippedos in .224 and 6mm were dandy's also.

HcliffThis sounds cool. I hope it has the BT accuracy. I would love it if it has performance and accuracy!! Now they need to introduce a .25 cal.

GREAT news on the bonded SSTs. Yes, it will be VERY interesting to see where they price these suckers.

<BC hunter>One wonders if the "new" Nosler Accubond, will be of a boattail construction like the BT. It could be more difficult to construct. I would like to see them make a BalTip Bonded Partition Boattail. Now that would be the ultimate bullet for accuracy, penetration, mushrooming and anti-defragmentation you could ever ask for. Good long range, and close in.
I wonder why they haven't done something like that?

<razorback>I was thinking instead of a partition bonded boattail, more of a trophy bonded boattail bullet. I think it would be easier to make at the factories. maybe even put a plastic tip on them.

The bullets are supposed to be out at the first of the year. The bullet looks like a regular BT but it uses a heavier jacket that is bonded to the core. Jacket material is gilded metal not copper. This looks promising.

I don't know about getting them across the border to you but, from Oregon to Illinois, they're cheaper -- even with shipping -- than picking up the "good" ones locally.
It's always hit-and-miss, though, when you call. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't -- and sometimes, they just sold the last box of what you wanted three minutes ago.

rifleman1Checked out Mid South Shooting supply and they are beginning to list the pricing for the new Accubond bullets from Nosler - although they are shown as back ordered - appears that they will sell for 25-30% less than the partitions and about the same amount more than the ballistic tips - 225 gr in 338 and 140 gr in 270 were the calibers I checked out. Nosler web site still does not show any news on these bullets.

Jon AMidway lists them all as well. I guess that means they should be available pretty soon.
I'm glad to see they kept the prices so low.

I have tested the 180 gr Ultra Core Lokts on the range out of my 30-06, and I must say they were impressive. Velocity was 2721 fps, and groups were MOA.
I intend to field test them in May on Plains Game.
I'll report back how they perform.

My .270 shoots anything well, but the old 130gr Solidbase was the best deer bullet ever made!
