Jim the Plumber,

Was me I would get the .338 in either the Ruger M77 or the Win. M70. Forget the Remington. But let me say one thing he doesn't need a .338 WM for American Buffalo. They are not that dangerous nor do they die that hard. I took mine with one 180 Partition out of my .300 Weatherby at 180 yards. The two guys that were in camp before me took nice cow and herd bull with a .308 and a .35 Whelen. Both were shot at just over 200 yards and both wer one shot kills. The buffalo we were hunting were spooky and would run for any little thing. Lawdog
