As for myself, long range shooting at various inantimate objects is one thing but I do not think instances like the one described in the discussion are good for the Public Image of hunters or hunting.
That is just my personal opinion and that is all it is one persons opinion.
the shooter was scared of not getting the 'money shot'.

Topgun 30-06IMHO LR shooting should be on paper and steel, not on live animals even though there are some that have the equipment and practice such that they can shoot 700+ yards effectively. Shooting IMHO at those long ranges is just that and not what true hunting was intended to be.
