.375 cal 270 gr Partition RN
I have the opportunity to buy some of these bullets (sight unseen) for my 375-338. They are not current production as Nolser only makes a 260 gr and 300 gr Partition bullet in .375 cal. My questions are (1) when did Nosler stop making this particular bullet and (2) anyone ever use them. It's no secret, I'm a Partition kind of guy, but these sound very interesting and the price is right.

I've used a lot of the old style (machined) Nosler partitions, but never the specific .375 you mention. The old ones were good ones, alright, insofar as terminal performance. They tended to be a little less accurate than the new style, but I always had pretty good accuracy out of them anyway. My guess is that those old 270grain RN's will drill a moose or brownie right along with the best of what's available today. I'd buy 'em.

Please explain "machined".

Gerard,
I think he means made on a screw machine as the early Noslers were, but that was before the 270 gr. bullets mentioned here...

the 270 gr. partitions you are refering to are not round nosed but simi pointed if I'm not mistaken...that to the best of my memory as used a lot of thoes simi pointed 270 up until I think the 1980's...but thats just by memory sooooo who knows, my arties are setting up on me these days or so I'm told by the one who runs this outfit in Idaho...
