Improve A-Bolt trigger??
Is there anything I can do to improve the trigger on my Browning A-Bolt?? I've already lightened it as much as it will go. Mark

The answer is yes but it should be done only by a QUALIFIED gunsmith.

I agree. I have my 3 A bolts to 2-2.5 pounds BUT I had a gunsmith do it.

Ditto on the above.
I have two A-Bolts and a sloppy 4.5 lbs was the best I could get with the factory adjustment.
A trip to my smith and they are now adjustable from 1.5 to 3.5 lbs. Thier set at a super crisp 2 lbs.

This gets to the heart of my problem.

I've thought the safety was on a few times before my A-Bolt went off. I haven't gotten to it again to try to make the manual adjustment, but it sounds like that step may be a waste of time.

This is funny. The factory trigger is one of the few good things about that rifle, that needs no improvment.

Now, if they could put a real extractor in the rifle, get rid of the plastic and aluminum crap, and stop the high-gloss finish......

The trigger on my A Bolt was terrible. Like Kensco, I thought the safety was on a couple of times when I tried pulling the trigger. I checked it with a scale and it was 5 1/2 lbs. My uncle is good at working on triggers, so I had him look at it. He ended up taking that little adjustment screw out and filing a little off the end to make it shorter. The screw now can be screwed in farther and lightens up the trigger more. It's at 3 lbs now and much better. Only took him 10 minutes.
