sakofanMuley Crazy...
Just got my second edition of Muley Crazy magazine...And I wanted to pass on my total satisfaction with it!!
Excellent to the 10th power....Dont care about what most rags offer, flyfishing for carp, and grouse hunting, but I LOVE to look at big muleys killed by regular guys like me...Good job..sakofan.....

boilerroomTwo thumbs up for Big Buck from me also.
I've been reading it for years and it's top notch. Jim shockey is also one of the full time writers and Brian McMillen's photos are superb.

Craig NolanI also receive and love Muley Crazy; as to Big Buck, I've seen it, but it always seems to slant heavily towards Eastern Whitetails, what is the % of content devoted to Muleys and/or Blacktails??
Thanks,
Craig

AtkinsonFor any of you died in the wool Mule Deer trophy hunters, I have the worlds largest Mule Deer..Each year we kill several Mule deer in the 208 to 230 B&C class...It is hard hunting and you must be phyically fit. I hut 3 ranches ranging in the 100,000 ac. each, no high fence in the arid Kermit, Texas (2) area and Roswell N.M. area (1)...We only allow about 5 hunters on each ranch, in order to keep the gene pool....I had 4 opennings on last count left for 2003...Also have Audad and pronghorn (sold out of pronghorn for 2003)

I have to disagree with your claim to "Big Buck" focusing on eastern whitetails. The magazine does mainly focuse on whitetails but the content mostly comes from the west(it is mostly about trophies after all). 25% of the stories are on mulies, and a few elk stories on top of that. It's safe to assume that is western after all.
I havn't read "Muley Crazy" but have some videos called muley crazy. Pretty awsome.
Maybe you should flip through your copies of Big buck again.

Sakofan, do me a favour. Does the magazine have any phone number listed for subscription?? If yes, could you post it here?? Reason: the web-site assumes you are a US (or at least North American) resident, so I'm a bit wary with signing up for a subscription that way. Normal problem for US websites

sakofanYeah, go to monster muley and look at ALL the info about Ryan.
I knew someone would have to say something about that poaching accusations.
I believe he was wrongly accused, and cleared, and anybody that has a problem with Ryan, or his ethics, should call him at his house and discuss it...not hide behind a computer and asasinate him or his character.
Basically, if you "dont really know"..then you need to cork it!!....sakofan...

GreenhornI'm friends with a mutual friend of Ryan's, the founder of Muley Crazy. In any event, Ryan phoned me and talked about mule deer hunting, and asked if I'd be interested in submitting some photos and details about some deer I've taken for his magazine. As pleasant as he was to talk with, I agreed. I'd spoken to him years earlier about a NM permit I'd drawn for mule deer, and he was just as kind then.
I think his magazine is great, he's a super guy, and very knowledgable on mule deer. I hope he does well with it.
As for the situation with the Navajo tribe's charges against him, look into it before making any judgements.

AtkinsonCraig Nolan,
Those hunts are tracking hunts in a desert region near Kermit, Texas, and Jal NM...The owner has 5 ranches and each is about 100,000 ac. no high fences...Hard hunting but some of the best Mule deer in the world..He only shoots 3 to 5 bucks off each ranch and they are the really big boys over 200 B&C...He could concievably shoot 45 or more, but he is adamait on keeping his gene pool intact and money is not a consideration with him...It is strictly for the ultimate trophy hunter...Costs is $3500 and $4000 depending on which ranch you hunt..All hunts are guided...see my web page or call for further information...I will tell you now that it is no cake walk and very much like hunting Sonora Mexico and the success is about the same, I'd say about 50% success...Shooting a 28" buck is verbotten on this ranch and you will see a lot of really nice bucks that you simply are not allowed to shoot...
