Fall Bear
Anyone here in Washington planning on going for the fall bear season?
Firearm of choice?
Best of luck. I'll see you in the field.

Cool. Best of luck to you.
What's the recoil of the .338-06 comperable to? I'm bringing my .338 Win Mag. (should do the trick)

brianboI shoot 210 grn bullets out of my 338-06 and the recoil is quite a bit less than the 250 grn bullets I shoot out of my 338 Win Mag. The 338 Win Mag is light at 7 1/2 pounds where the 338-06 weighs about a pound more.

Brian

Wow. 7 1/2 Lbs, that is pretty light. I think mine is just over 8. ('94 Ruger M77MKII, old style stock).
I'm currently using 225gr Hornady SST's.
