Fall Bear
Anyone here in Washington planning on going for the fall bear season?

Firearm of choice?

Best of luck. I'll see you in the field.

I have a tag, if I see a decent one, I'll probably take it. 338-06.

Cool. Best of luck to you.

What's the recoil of the .338-06 comperable to? I'm bringing my .338 Win Mag. (should do the trick) Big Grin

I shoot 210 grn bullets out of my 338-06 and the recoil is quite a bit less than the 250 grn bullets I shoot out of my 338 Win Mag. The 338 Win Mag is light at 7 1/2 pounds where the 338-06 weighs about a pound more.

Wow. 7 1/2 Lbs, that is pretty light. I think mine is just over 8. ('94 Ruger M77MKII, old style stock).

I'm currently using 225gr Hornady SST's.
