577NitroExpressFall Black Bear Hunting in Maine - Recommendations?
All:
I may have the opportunity to get some time off in September/October. I was thinking about a Black Bear hunt - Maine looks interesting albeit hunted over bait.
What are people's thoughts about Main for Black Bear?
Anyone hunted with an outfit up there?
Thanks for any and all feedback.

Pa.FrankHunted out of
North Country Lodge last year... this is a first class outfit..
while i didn't get a bear, (we went near the end of the season) I had a great time, and can't say anything negative about the place.. The owner (Hank) and all the guides were top notch and worked hard to help everyone get a bear and have a good time.
I found them from another review posted on this site.
I would definitely hunt with them again. (but not near the end of the season!)

Big Wonderful WyomingMaine is a good cheaper alternative to Canada for bait hunts.
There is a slug of bears up there, not as many monsters but it's a nice place.
Maine has damn few people.
Years ago 4 of us hunted with
www.allagashguideservice.com and went 4 for 4 with the biggest about 340 lbs. Good service, guides, lodging and food. It was along the Canadian border and as I recall the last hunt was beginning of September.
