I am running 120 nosler BT bullets at around 2900fps for deer this year. I have used 120 sierra spitzers with good success. How about them Nosler BT?

Hope to be able to give you a report after this weekend! These NBTs aren't starting out as fast as yours, though, light loads at 2300 fps mv.

I've used this very bullet at starting velocities as low as 2040 fps and as high as 3075 fps, and on deer, it performs extremely well -- and on broadside shots, you can generally count on an exit.

We took a doe last week with the 120 BT launched at 3100 FPS. Shoulder shot at about 200 yards. Broke the near shoulder, trashed the lungs and exited. Doe never took a step.

I had a a lot of reservations about using this bullet as I have had some fail to penetrate to my satisfaction when they 1st came out. I have now revised my opinion on them a bit. I will use them on deer again. Good luck.

IMHO, these are the best deer bullets made, and I am NOT a ballistic tip fan in any other caliber. Like Bobby, I have sent them on their way at speeds from 2000 fps to 3100 fps and they have always killed the deer almost instantly. The most any deer traveled was two steps and that's after shooting almost 40 deer with them. Now for elk or pigs I prefer the 125 or 140 Partition or 129 Hornady.

My youngest son used them in a .260 Rem. Mountain rifle at around 2900 fps for several years. He shot several deer with and great success with it.
