Bucky pix from Virginia
My nephew sent these to me from Skyline Drive outside of Richmond Virginia.
Where's my pistol?

The Skyline Drive is in a National Park. No hunting!

I've seen these deer myself and it can be frustrating. I guess that is why there is such a premium on farm land which backs up to the park! [Wink]

BTW, this is where the Crocodile Hunter came for some rattlesnake "opportunities".

I love the middle tongue photo! It's like he's saying (in a taunting tone) "I'm in a national paaaark, you can't shooot meeeee"! [Big Grin]

Some of the bucks in the city parks around the Pittsburgh area would eat these Pee Wees. A friend of mine has a picture of JESUS CHRIST!!! standing under a no hunting sign. Were not sure if the buck is actually named JESUS CHRIST!!! but everybody seems to call him that. I bet that he's at least in the 180's (NT) if not bigger. No shit. He made the home video segment of Buckmasters two years ago.

In any case, these are nice bucks. I would like to see how big some of the older ones in Skyline Drive are.

I've hunted a couple times in a public area that borders Shenandoah National Park ... never saw a deer, I'm sure they were sticking their tongues out at us, too.

On the last visit a newbie hunter who was with us went wandering off past the double blazes marking the park boundary ... I was envisioning deer over there with Park Rangers for bodyguards.

It has gotten so bad that the county and local PD'S have instaled those deer whistles on their cars to cut down on the accidents,Yorktown has it bad also with the parkway.

I drove the skyline when I was working in Virginia one year. Beautiful country and nice looking deer. - Dan

If you want a "for sure" opportunity to see deer, go to Big Meadows. Plenty of parking, trails and deer galore. If you behave you can get very close. Whoever goes, enjoy!
