AR Team members,

One of my sons was fortunate enough to draw an off range Oryx tag. Lucky me, I get to tag along! Does anyone have any experience with the off range hunt? Any advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jack,
What month does your boy have? My two boys pulled off range for the month of February. Shoot me your email and I will share some info I've gleaned from others. Also, have you considered going guided? I'm seeing $500/day, 3-day min, as the going rate. Don't know that I'll go guided. Haven't decided. Any experience on or off the range? Thanks, Justin

Check around with some of the private landowners surrounding White Sands. Some are willing to allow trespass for these hunts for a fee. There may be some guide types for "off range" but most of the ones I know pretty much stick to the "on range" hunts. Good luck.

Congrats on the tags fellas, you're in for some fun. I had a good off-range hunt last August.

That particular place got hit hard in the months after me, and we haven't seen oryx there in several months now. I work with a fella who guides off-range hunters and has a pretty good track record putting guys on game. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in contacting him.
