wapiti7AIU,
It can be pretty difficult. The best resources would the game and fish office in roswell. There are a few guys there who hunt sheep pretty hard and they will help you to some extent. But of course they won't tell you everything. There are also some ranches in the Hondo that have good shhep. Good luck....................wapiti7

TCLouisWhat about those up in the Canadian Canyon by Roy?
Did I read that NMG&F wanted them killed out some years ago and "opened season" on them?

PanchoI hunt private property in the Hondo River valley. Good numbers of sheep up there. My experience in hunting BLM/State land around here is that if you don't get your sheep on the 1st morning, you probably won't see much other than a bunch of other hunters all chasing the ghosts that just went over the fence onto private land. There are some parts of the S. Guadalupe Mtns that have some but better get your hiking boots all greased up if you expect to find that bunch. Still have a few openings for hunters this year. If you're interested in a private land hunt, send me a pm.
