One other thing: get a scope that has a clearly marked, easy to read elevation counter. Once zeroed, you can paint a white like or put small adhesive tape strips to mark wind/ele zeros.

I like Bushnell scopes (the 4200 anyway, since the 3200 has the same long tube but without the 4x boost), but the elevation counter is impossible to read.

DKing: what scopes do you like, and which do you find to be the most repeatable in terms of w/e?

I personally don't think much of a guy who would attempt a shot at an unwounded animal at a distance over 100 yards if that guy does not take the time to properly sight in his gun with the load that he is going to hunt with and does not practise on a regular basis at all distances that he might shoot at game.Too much of a chance to wound.



It is a fact that there are hunters in the field that can consistantly place their shots at distances over 400 yards with more precision than many hunters can at 200 yards or less.The numbers are not great but those hunters do exist.Of course it is not really that hard to believe if you spend a great deal of time at the range and see just how poorly a lot of hunters really shoot.And that is not counting the hunters that never even bother going to a range or sighting their gun in.
