Yes. The last of five novels I've written. Been writing mostly magazine pieces lately. Will probably do one on the sheep hunt I have coming up in five weeks in the Pryor Mountains. Drew the only tag issued. There were about 140 applicants.
Getting back to our New York friend, I hope his outfitter didn't mislead him. I, personally, would not travel all the way across the country to hunt an unlimited area, but perhaps the outfitter has had success with this in the past.

John,

I see you are from Miles City. Are you the same John L. Moore that wrote the book, "Land of Empty Houses"?

Perhaps he can wait for years and never draw (like me), hence neveer sheep hunt, or he can pay BIG BUCKS and go on a storebought tag, or he can hunt alaska or canada on a outfitted hunt. or: he can choose to go on a two-shot unlimited tag hunt and at least go sheep hunting... He will see plenty of nonlegals and always the hope to see and shoot a legal.. but I am with you: what if the locals shoot two rams first day or first two days: he is then out of time, out of luck, and out of opportunity... I would not want to go across country either, but what choices are there?

cheers
