What can you tellme about this revolver ?

Posted also in other AR forums, but seems I might be much luckier here...

What can you tell me about this handgun? a Six shooter, 2 1/2" barrel, very much alike the colt detective ...

Is it a real mauser? Or a Renato Gamba´s replica?

Supposedly these are Mausers.
I have seen them before here in the US for about $700 to $1200.
