Norma Oryx, good performance

Hi, this is a photo of 2 cal. 30-200 g. Norma Oryx bullets, recovered inside a boar that I shot Saturday. Despite the short distance, (8-10 meters), and the powerful cartridge, (300 Win. Mag.) the 2 bullets kept 75-80% of their weight. One has been shot downhill, across the spine, chest, and has been recovered inside the shoulder, the second has been shot between the eyes, across the neck and has been recovered in the side, after having broken 3 ribs. I consider this a good performance.

You forgot to post a picture of the boar! roflmao

I used an Oryx on a small boar last year at close range and it went through him broadside, but that was a larger, slower-moving bullet (285-grain 9.3).

Congratulations.

Thanks for the picture -- I like the long hair along his back. Good job.

Thanks Charles, since it was a sow, the long hair along his back is really remarkable.

Congratulations on a job well done Wildboar. The 200 grain is a wonderful bullet weight in the .30-06 and bigger .30 Caliber cartridges. Not to mention how well you placed them! Good hunting.
