Brandon.GleasonMore mountain lions in CT?
Seems to be numerous sightings in East Haddam as of late. CT DEEP won't confirm, but could they be taking up residence here?

Savage_99Seems to be true.
We saw one in our backyard a year ago and again running across a road in front of the car in NW CT.
Long ago I saw one in S. Vermont.
We have coyotes here now that we never had before. They have ruined the woodchuck hunting.

Black EagleI'm the new guy on this forum but I've been tracking and studying mountain lions for over 50 years. You probably have lions all over the northeast. There is a saying, wherever there is cover, concealment, and deer, there are lions.
I live near the highest density of lions in North America -- Phantom Canyon in Colorado. We have people who have lived here for decades and have never seen a lion. They are the most secretive animals extant. I've hiked all over the northeast and although I've never seen a lion there, I've always been struck by how perfect the habitat is for them. They can live secretly in some of those forests forever and never have a face to face encounter with a human.
