Barnes .338 210 XLC ?
A friend of mine gave me a few Barnes 338 210gr X bullets to load up. They proved very accurate out of my 338-06 Douglas bbl at 2750 fps, although, they did foul it bit more than I care for. I'm thinking the XLC coating should cure fouling problem.

I Shot them into five gallon buckets of Cook Inlet clay and moose leg bones. Both bullets weighed 210grs after breaking bone and had perfect .70 and .73 dia mushrooms with excellant penetration. I've been curious weather anyone has had any field experience with them on Elk/Moose size critters?

I'm a died in the wool Nosler fan but it appears as though these might be winners! I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread or two on this particular bullet considering the popularity of the 338 bore. Any information would be appreciated.

I could not get the 210 XBT to shoot for me, but the 200 X flat base shot superbly.
I have used the 200 X in the 338 Mag and 225 X in 35 Whelen with wonderful results.

If your gun will shoot those 210's, GO FOR IT, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Cubdriver: I shot three caribou this past March using 210 grain Barnes-X (uncoated) in my .338 WinMag and they worked perfectly. I did not recover any bullets...one shot was at long range (275-300 yards)and it knocked the animal down with authority. These are good bullets...I too am a long-time Nosler fan, but these days I find myself using Barnes-X bullets (coated) in my .338, .378Wby. and .416Wby.

I shot a moose aprox 80 yards away facing dead away with a 225 X bullet (XLC).The bullet exited out of the chest just below the neck and dropped instantly.

I like the 210 Nosler Partition too. But I have useded those 210 XBT in a 330 dakota to very good effect. These days there are so many good bullets around now that the only thing you need to do is find one that will shoot well in your rifle. I got a new sako 75 that I'm working on some good loads for. One of the ones that is working well is the 210 X BT. Its not the most accurate load going but, it so far has put 5 shots into 2 1/4 inchs at 200 yards. They also leave the Muzzel just over 2800 fps. My only gripe is that they do foul a little more that some of the other bullets I like. But its a small price to pay for one of the better bullets that exist.
