I wish I could, David, but I will be out looking for moose. I leave town at the end of August to be ready for "opening day" on September 1st.

Dave: Mosquitoes have been bad this year, so remember to bring a couple of face nets. I use the ones without a wire, over a brim or other hat. It has also been raining for several days now, so it is not a bad idea to include rain gear along warm and cold weather clothing , gloves, and boots. I like large Neoprene gloves to keep my hands dry and warm, and large enough to allow me to remove them fast when I need to. These are also good for skinning and quartering moose. Wear a set of latex surgical gloves against your skin, and the Neoprene over those. Flyer's gloves (military pilot gloves, with leather palms) are great for cool/dry days, since you don't have to remove them to fire your rifle, but not good for wet days. You could buy bug spray in town, but you may want to bring a can of Snow Seal to treat your boots. If you are using GoreTex (water proof) boots, then you may want to find out what to treat them with before you arrive.

Sometimes it is warm up here during moose season, but at times it could get cold (around 30 degrees at night), while other times it could be cool and rainy. To stay warm, wear layers of clothing. Synthetic materials are great, and rain gear that is large enough to allow wearing layers of clothing underneath. Polypropylene socks are good, but they could be just a little too warm on hot days. I always have several pairs of these socks, and so far wear them most of the time.
