Ruger Magnum Rifle Fixed Sight?
I had my .375 H&H Ruger Magnum rifle out the other day and was playing with the fixed sights. At 100 yards the first fixed sight (or what I call the battlesight) shot about 8 inches low (but was pretty much on at 25 yards) The second or middle flip up sight was about an inch low at 100 yards, and the third flip up sight was about an inch high at 100 yards. Anyone know what the factory calibrated distances for these sights are?
FWIW, I shot a 3 shot string at 100 yards with open sights and had a great 3 shot cloverleaf going. Got excited and went in the cabin for some more shells to finish a 5 shot group and the light changed (cloudy day) the next two shots were touching each other but about an inch to the left of the first 3. Drat!

You need to order the next lowest front sight from Brownells and it will raise that one standing sight to dead on at 100 yds. This is usual for the Rugers for some reason...

Brownells has a nice Ruger front sight with a larger 3/32 bead, a better bet for a dangerous game rifle.....

I have seen this minor problem on most of the iron sighted Rugers.

I wonder what ammo Ruger used to calibrate
those fixed sights? Or do they do it using
a computer program & mathematically compute the correct height.

Bear,
I don't know but they seem to inverably shoot 5 to 8"'s low. Maybe the regulator wears trifocals??
