Bitching about wolves...

wasbeemanBitching about wolves...
Shooting them from an airplane would be quite a sport but as far as controlling them that way, don't make me laugh.
I lived in Ok for 15yrs and there they trapped coyotes, dogged them, poisoned them, shot them from airplanes, and any other method you could imagine. When I left Ok, there were just as many coyotes as when I got there.

AXEL19These posts make me laugh. Shoot them from airplanes, SSS, kill them all, there is a reason they were wiped out, blah, blah, blah.
The next time an anti looks at you and says that you are a cold, heartless, blood thirsty murderer, you'll have to look at them and say "Yes I am".
A bunch of outdoorsman/conservationists that can't tolerate a specific species that got along just fine in the ecosystem before we got here. I always find the height of hypocrisy in these threads to be near unbelievable.

Ahhh.... Puts a smile on yer face just thinkin about it, don,t it?!..
It is kind of funny to think about how many drunk idiots there would be that either fell out/crashed/shot the pilot of the plane they were in. I'm sure that number would be much higher than wolves killed.

MuttlyAs far as wiping them all out, we all know thats not gonna happen. As far as possible parts of a culling plan go, possible, but not probable. Far more effective than getting a tag and going hunting. From a political standpoint, might as well ask the wolves to please not go after the same critters we like to eat.
And if anybody knows any experienced pilots who make it a habit to invite drunks with guns out flying for a little bit of sport, I,m all ears.

God forbid, have a different opinion that his highness Yale and beeman and you're labeled a tofu eating hippy. Yet, I know I've killed more elk than both of them combined!
I sure enjoy how they love pushing their 1000 mile fodder (that required no actual research in a library or reading of a book, just "talking to a buddy (whose just another transplant from back east) in Cody") yet if you have another perspective they jump all over you. I know what's going out my door boys, do you? City getting to you?
Just what I would expect from a low life attorney.

Dear Moose Drool:
Isn't it time to renew that PETA card?
You can go look at the bison in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, but I don't think they have any elk there.
Sincerely,

kudu56WALLACE, Idaho — The Shoshone County sheriff says two dogs were attacked by four wolves near the northern Idaho town of Wallace.
Sheriff Mitch Alexander said that one dog died and another sustained a facial bite in the attack Wednesday evening, and that there were many wolf tracks in the area.
The newspaper reported that Idaho Fish and Game officials told residents in the area that it is legal to shoot the wolf pack. Idaho Fish and Game official Josh Stanley didn't return a call for comment.

Outdoor WriterFrom a 1/13/12 ID G&F press release:
Motorist Captures Elk Herd on the Run
Josh Hoisington was heading home from a fishing trip this fall and captured video of a large herd of elk on the run.
“To see this sight was pretty incredible,” Hoisington said. “Seeing this elk herd has made my first year in Idaho amazing.”
Hoisington posted the video on YouTube and described what he saw:
“There was a youth hunt going on. A hunter on the west ridge pushed them down into the valley and across the road. There was also a coyote flanking the herd as well. He was running full tilt, but you can’t see him in the video.”
Hoisington moved to Idaho from Colorado just one year ago. His first year in Idaho has also included a successful elk hunt and lots of fishing.
The video is available on Fish and Game’s YouTube Channel link at:

I don't agree that we have any evidence to support that position. I think it is being unfair to them and a way to win an agrumenty that you can't win on the facts.
When the wolves were reintroduced into Idaho and Yellowstone no one including Idaho F&G and the USF&WS expected the wolves to increase as fast or spread as far as they did in such a short time. It surprised just about everyone. The USF&WS has been trying to delist them for quite a few years and allow state control. The big hang up with the courts has been that Wyoming had not developed a wolf management plan that was acceptable to them. If either WG&F or the USF&WS had caved on this plan, Idaho would have been instituting a wolf control management system when wolf populations were a lot lower and easier to manage.

24mileboy465,
Don't add facts to the pink brigade troll hunt!
You are exactly right in your statement, Thanks for some common sense!

capowardLeast anyone forget Wyoming did win a federal suit against the USF&WS in October 2011 in which the judge ruled that USF&WS’ rejection of Wyoming's wolf plan was "arbitrary and capricious" and should be set aside – here’s a link:
http://trib.com/news/state-and...6.html#ixzz1jxB5OQizI personally support Wyoming’s efforts as they appear to be the only state attempting to hold the USF&WS to wolf numbers and area as originally agreed upon in the wolf reintroduction debacle...

Had to look long and hard at that one, and had to take a good hard look at myself. Was he right? Had he been right all along? Tough questions to ponder..
Well folks, I,ve known for quite a while that its probably time to get another 9.3. One with a synthetic stock, that would,nt feel the cold so deeply, one that would,nt be so affected by the rain.. One that could better deal with the adverse, dare I say it, some times crappy conditions here.
Today I put a 270 featherweight in a case, and we went for a drive. Hard for me not to shed a tear just thinking about it. We went to the gun shop, and Ol,Yeller did,nt come home.
Tonight, theres an empty spot next to the other guns where a 270 used to be. Theres a a hole in my heart that I,m not ashamed to say, just hurts.
They can say that I am a cold, heartless, blood thirsty murderer.
They,d be wrong.

BigNateThe use of the term "reintroduction" is incorrect. The F&WS planted wolves that were not the native wolf. These are much larger than the native wolves were. Given this, it was an "introduction".
The wolves from Canada didn't come down here even when there was nothing to stop them. Nobody is asking for passports. Introducing these predators was stupid, and man has again proven that he is incapable of thinking ahead.
I witnessed a wolf in central Oregon about thirty years ago. So although there may not have been enough around to impress some people they were still around. Just because someone doesn't see them doesn't meen they aren't around.
We have not even come close to culling enough to stay on the planned take for this year. Nate
