I just made a swap for a .44 Mag Marlin, and then I was given the opportunity to fill in for a buddy on his Elk hunt. I need to find someonewho needs to get rid of a 30/06 or better. Make, ding, dents, worn blueing no problem, as long as the bore is good. I know I'll have to kick in cash, but just remember I is poor.

You should go to Wal-Mart and see if they have any Weatherby Vangaurds still on Red Tag sale for $250. They have been selling the Savage 110s on Red Tag sale for 250 also. If they don't have either, check out that new Mossberg Bolt action for $244. If still no luck get one of thier NEF Handi Rifles in 30-06 (Make sure you get one w/ the scope mopunt rail installed). The Handis shoot great and only cost around 180-190 bucks. You can get one of their Nikon Prostaff scopes (around $150) or a Leupold Rifleman at Wal-mart too.

If you don't want to spend that much on a scope, their is a Simmons Whitetail Expedition in the Classified section for $80.
