daniel745Wyoming 2016 Archery bulls (details added)
This was with an outfitter I've hunted with in the past and had good success. I've posted results in the past on this forum including a video of my son's hunt 3 years ago.
The first morning we were into bugling bulls at the crack of dawn. There were at least 6 bulls within 150 yds of us in the quakies, but they kept pushing the cows out in front of us. Finally one of them responded to a soft cow call and came to within 30 yds., but no shot.
A little later we came upon a wallow and decided to set up there for a while. No more than 10 minutes later a good bull came to the wallow and laid down. We waited until he got up and started to move off, but still could not get a shot.
10 minutes later the bull I shot (top photo) came to the wallow and presented a wide open broadside shot at 15 yds. He went about 70 yds. My guide got the whole thing on video.
My son's bull was a classic cat and mouse game that lasted 2 hours on our third day. He finally responded to me cow calling about 50 yds. uphill of my son's location. He shot him at 15 yds. with a straight on chest shot. This bull went 80 yds. before piling up.
All in all a great hunt. I'm booked every time I can draw a tag until I can't walk anymore!
